Lib Dem Councillors wins National Award

Blackburn with Darwen Liberal Democrat Councillor, Mohammad Rizwan was presented with a National Award by his union USDAW last month.

Cllr. Rizwan, who represents Bastwell Ward, won the National Campaigns Award fo his work on combatting racial abuse.

He said, "We gave out leaflets and ran a high profile campaign in-store to target those customers who were causing problems and it worked. The company was very supportive and so were the customers who gave us their backing. I was really happy to win and it's good recognition for the store and everyone who is involved at the local level."
