Expelled Councillor resigns

Cllr Yusuf Sidat,councillor for Queen's Park Ward has resigned from the Council. This follows his recent expulsion from the Liberal Democrat Group for not attending council meetings for many months. Cllr Sidat went to India but failed to return in a reasonable time and the Group expelled because he failed to meet the minimum standards expected of a Liberal Democrat Councillor.
There now be a by-election in the Queen's Park Ward, with the probable date being 5 February.
