Darwen firm to benefit from Regional Growth Fund

A Darwen Company will benefit from funding from the Regional Growth Fund recently announced by the government.
Lucite International will receive over £2 million to help with £15 million investments to install a fourth production line at their Darwen factory. This will increase their production of acrylic sheeting for sanitary ware, lighting, signs, furniture, etc.
Lib Dem Group Leader Cllr. David Foster said, "This is excellent news for Darwen. The coalition government has said that they want to encourage manufacturing and this will help an important local company expand its production. It shows confidence in the town"
In the North West Region the successful bids will help sustain over 45,000 jobs.
