Blackburn & Darwen give troops welcome home

Over 10,000 local people braved the cold weather to welcome the 1st Battalion of of the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment as they paraded through Blackburn on their Home Coming Parade.

Following a service in Blackburn Cathedral they marched past the Town Hall, where the salute was taken by the Deputy Mayor Cllr. Karimeh Foster.

This was followed by a reception at King George's Hall, where Colonel Davies, a native of Darwen, was presented with a commemorative vase by the Deputy Mayor
